Since its formation in 2005, the Union Hospital Wound Healing Center has delivered remarkable success healing chronic wounds that have defied months or even years of other types of healing treatments. Our expert staff of doctors, nurses, and therapists understand that the causes of wounds are complex and that every wound has a unique set of circumstances. We have the skills and state-of-the-art technology, such as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO), to effectively heal patients wounds.
There is no referral necessary to begin treatment, but if referred by a doctor, we will work with the physician to develop a treatment program based on the patient's unique needs, remaining in constant communication with the doctor throughout the wound healing process.
As part of the treatment plan, we will teach our patients how to properly care for their wounds at home including how to change dressings and more importantly, how to protect themselves from future injuries.
The Wound Healing Center offers advanced wound care which includes wound debridement, biological skin grafting, compression therapy, treatment for bone infections, gangrene, lower leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. In addition, the center also offers an ostomy clinic for patients that need support and assistance with ostomy care.
